SHELF DESIGN – SIMPLE AND FLEXIBLE
MINOFORM’s shelf design is both simple in its design and robust in construction, making it suitable for most purposes. The flexibility to rebuild the shelf allows for changing needs, decor, and style. The design of the shelves stands out, particularly for:
– Great stability and load-bearing capacity with 25mm MDF shelves
– A significant shelf height of 34.5cm and shelf depth of 35cm
– Great flexibility in building both the shelf and individual storage spaces. This makes it easy to store and display different items, providing a durable design furniture.
GUIDE TO CHOOSING A SHELF
In choosing a shelf design for your home that supports both functional and stylish decor, consider:
1. Storage needs. What should the shelf accommodate? What are your space and display needs for different types of items, such as books, magazines, vinyl records, and/or decorative objects like vases, lamps, and sculptures. Small shelves are good for audio equipment and TV stands, medium-sized shelves are suitable for bookshelves, and large shelves are for those who need a spacious shelving system.
2. Room and placement – size and design. In which room and layout will the shelf be placed? What placement options are available? How much space can the shelf occupy? Should the shelf complement other furniture and objects? Differently designed shelves support different spatial experiences. A long shelf along the lower part of the wall makes the room appear longer/wider – and the design allows for art on the upper part of the wall. A tall shelf makes the room appear taller – and the shelf design allows for arranging in harmony with other furniture, such as an armchair. A wall of shelves becomes an integral, space-defining part of the room – and the shelf design solves a significant storage and display need. A room divider shelf allows for creating space within a space – and the shelf can separate different functions completely or partially. A symmetric or asymmetric shelf creates a calm or more dynamic expression, and the design supports different styles and expressions.
3. Expression and style in shelf design. What expression and style are desired? Should the shelf design be entirely minimalist or stand out sculpturally? Should the shelf function as a simple one in the living room, a massive bookshelf, or a decorative shelf of an airier nature for sculptural items? Choose a white shelf or use colours and oak veneer to emphasize a personal expression.
